Period of Revelation: This surah is a Makki surah, it was revealed towards the end of Makkan era. There were many stories about previous prophets strengthening the prophet sallAllaahu alayhi wa salaam to strengthen and comfort him and the sahabahs. This surah is the last of that chain of surahs.
As Makki Qur'aan, the dominant theme is aakhirah.
The concept of gratitude is mentioned.
There was a lot of comfort given to the prophet but also a stern warning to the disbelievers.
In various parts of the Qur'aan you see different aspects of the story of the life of the same prophet.
Although the surah is called Ibraahim, there is very little mentioned about him.

the way we read the letters instead of combining them, this is a message that read the Qur'aan as it is revealed and do not deviate from it
this is the most common opinion, that Allaah began these urahs with huroof muqatta'aat to challenge the Arabs that this Qur'aan was revealed in your own language with its eloquence, pure balagha and perfect grammar. You know your language, so you know very well that this is divine. This is a challenge to the poets to produce a Qur'aan or even one ayah like it
they come out to 14 letters. Use the other half or the entire alphabet and come up with something comparable
it is also a sign of the status of the messenger of Allaah sallAllaahu alayhi wa salaam. How would we know how to read this had it not been for the messenger?
Usually when the muqatta'aat are mentioned, what follows is a mention of the book of Allaah.
