Allah does not change the condition of people unless they themselves change. Thus, He sends down afflictions or blessings when their causes become prevalent among them: { إِنَّ اللَّهَ لا يُغَيِّرُ مَا بِقَوْمٍ حَتَّى يُغَيِّرُوا مَا بِأَنفُسِهِمْ } “Indeed, Allah will not change the condition of a people until they change what is in themselves.”
{He sends down from the sky, rain, and valleys flow according to their capacity, and the torrent carries a rising foam. And from that [ore] which they heat in the fire, desiring adornments and utensils, is a foam like it. Thus Allah presents [the example of] truth and falsehood. As for the foam, it vanishes, [being] cast off; but as for that which benefits the people, it remains on the earth. Thus does Allah present examples.} (13:17)
Although falsehood and its people may be apparent and appear to have the upper hand at times, except that the way of Allah in His creation is that the truth will ultimately prevail.
{Rather, We dash the truth upon falsehood, and it destroys it, and thereupon it departs.} (21:18)
Therefore, as long as we are upon the truth, we have to remain steadfast and oppose falsehood. The spread and rise of falsehood is a test for the people of truth.
{And if you are patient and fear Allah, their plot will not harm you at all. Indeed, Allah is encompassing of what they do.} (3:120)
[For those who respond to their Lord is good; and (as for) those who do not respond to Him, had they all that is in the earth and the like thereof with it they would certainly offer it for a ransom. (As for) those, an evil reckoning shall be theirs and their abode is hell, and evil is the resting-place.]
Allah mentions people are of two types, the one that responds to His Lord, so Allah mentioned his reward; and the one who does not answer His Lord, so his punishment is mentioned.
[For those who respond to their Lord] meaning they bring their hearts towards knowledge and Imaan, and their limbs to obey the commands and leave the prohibitions, and thus become from those who follow wholeheartedly whatever their Lord wants for them; so for them there is [al Husna] a pleasant state and a beautiful reward.
So they have the most noblest of attributes and the best of virtues, and the reward of the Dunya and Aakhirah - that which no eye has seen, no ear has heard, nor occurred upon any human heart. :sparkles::snowflake:
[As for those who do not respond to Him] they will have a horrible state ; and [even if they were to have the earths value] of gold and silver, [and similar to that, it would not save/ransom them ] from the punishment of the day of judgment, and it would never be accepted from them.
[Those are the ones who will have a horrible account] This account is for anyone who tread the path of evil deeds and fell short regarding the rights of Allah and the rights of His slaves; everything will be written and recorded against him; he will say [Woe to me! What book is this; it does not leave a major nor minor sin except that it recorded it!]
And after this horrible reckoning, [His refuge will be Jahannam] which contains all forms of punishment, from severe huger , to extreme thirst, to raging fire, :fire:to pus and scorching winds, and all of that which Allah mentioned from various types of punishment
[And what a terrible resting place] meaning, place of abode.
-Summarized Translation-
May Allah make us among those who respond to Him with repentance and sincerity in our hearts and good deeds on or limbs! May He save us from the punishment.

“Gardens of perpetual residence; they will enter them with whoever were righteous among their fathers, their spouses and their descendants. And the angels will enter upon them from every gate, [saying], ‘Peace be upon you for what you patiently endured. And excellent is the final home’” (Surah Al-Ra’d, 13:23-24) A successful marriage is one that results in each spouse achieving a greater station in the Hereafter. “Only in the remembrance of Allah can the heart find peace.” (Qur’an 13:28) أَلَا بِذِڪۡرِ ٱللَّهِ تَطۡمَٮِٕنُّ ٱلۡقُلُوبُ A peaceful heart is better than one that is happy. This is because happiness is temporary whilst peace is everlasting. And of the greatest ways to attaining a peaceful heart is to remember (make Dhikr of) Allah. Finding Peace | Though ease follows hardship, it is impractical to think that you will find eternal happiness in this life. The nature of this world is that there are ups and downs. For this reason, Allāh does not promise instant happiness and gratification with His remembrance, rather, He promises something superior and more enduring: He promises contentment and peace in the heart, this contentment and peace is what will get you through the ups, and the inevitable downs, ofthis life. ﴿ألا بذكر الله تطمئن القلوب﴾ ﴾Indeed, in the Remembrance of Allāh do hearts find rest.﴿ 26.08.15 QR Blog
In an ever-increasing busy schedule, we rarely forget to rest our bodies, but it is our soul that finds itself being neglected and abandoned. أَلَا بِذِڪۡرِ ٱللَّهِ تَطۡمَٮِٕنُّ ٱلۡقُلُوبُ “Truly it is in the remembrance of God that hearts find peace” (Qur’an 13:28) Cut out a portion of your day to allow your heart some rest. We do not rejoice at the calamities that befall others, except if they are oppressors and tyrants. Furthermore, we believe in what Allāh has told us concerning the enemies who wage war against the Muslims: “And a disaster will not cease to strike those who disbelieve because of their evil deeds, or it (the disaster) settles close to their homes, until the Promise of Allāh comes to pass. Certainly, Allāh does not fail in His Promise.” [Ar-Ra'd 13:31]
