Ibn Uthaymeen (may Allah have mercy on him) said:
'The good life' is not how the people understand it to be: as protection from all difficulties of poverty, illness, and distress.
No, rather the good life is that the person has a good heart and an expanded chest, and is tranquil and peaceful with the Will of Allah and His Predestination.
If any good thing comes to him he is pleased with it and that is good for him, and if any hardship hits him he is patient and that is good for him.
This is 'the good life', and it is the peace and happiness of the heart. As for large amounts of wealth and perfect health of the limbs, then this could be a misery for a person and a toil.

“To whoever, male or female, does good deeds and has faith, We shall give a good life and reward them according to the best of their actions.” This is the only path for true happiness, any other leads to misery and trouble. Some think of Islam as nothing but a set of ritual acts of worship, together with a list of prohibitions. Those who are deemed more religious are simply being "strict", perhaps "unnecessarily making life difficult" for themselves or others. The reality is Islam is a complete way of life; one should live and breathe it - basing every decision they make according to what is more pleasing to the Creator. There is no such thing as strictness in this regard, or strict interpretations for that matter. Rather, it is simply to submit to the One. We hear, and thus, we must obey. However, the believer feels no restrictions in this total submission; in fact it is a feeling of relief and emancipation, living in congruence with his natural disposition rather than under the shackles of society's expectations or his whims & desires. The result: an indescribable feeling of contentment in this life, followed by eternal bliss in the Hereafter. مَنۡ عَمِلَ صَـٰلِحً۬ا مِّن ذَڪَرٍ أَوۡ أُنثَىٰ وَهُوَ مُؤۡمِنٌ۬ فَلَنُحۡيِيَنَّهُ ۥ حَيَوٰةً۬ طَيِّبَةً۬ۖ وَلَنَجۡزِيَنَّهُمۡ أَجۡرَهُم بِأَحۡسَنِ مَا ڪَانُواْ يَعۡمَلُونَ “Whoever does righteous [deeds], whether male or female, while he is a believer - We will surely cause him to live a good life, and We will surely give them their reward [in the Hereafter] according to the best of what they used to do” (An-Nahl, 16:97) Gems From The Quran Facebook: tinyurl.com/FB-gftq Telegram: tinyurl.com/TG-gftq Instagram: tinyurl.com/Insta-gftq
“Verily, Allah is with those who are mindful of Him and who do good.” Allah’s special closeness, help and support is given to those who have taqwa and do good.
